About Zak Weiland

I'm an product designer and developer with over 14 years experience designing for real estate, insurance, healthcare, finance, IT, education, and 7 years in e-commerce.

I'm currently living in beautiful Austin, TX.

I've helped build products and marketing/branding assets for clients ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.

I collaborate and strategize customer experience and human-centered design with clients, stakeholders, product/project managers, engineers, and designers through group discussions, interviews, and workshops with the goal of finding the most effective balance between customer needs and business goals.

Before making the transition into Product & Customer Experience(CX), I was a Visual Designer & Front-End Developer. This has helped emmensely when there is a need to rapidly create html/css/js prototypes or animated UIs. It also comes in handy when communicating with front-end and back-end developers alike.

I grew up in Wisconsin and received a Bachelors in Web & Digital Media Development from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point.

When I'm not researching the mating rituals of interaction design and psychology, I'm an obsessed road cyclist, music lover, and comedy nerd. Not surpisingly, I also have a semi-inappropriate love affair with coffee.
